What makes a nursing bra different from a normal one
Two things, and both are mechanical. The cup opens on its own, with a clip on the strap or buttons at the front, without the rest of the bra moving. And there is no underwire: the wire sits exactly on the line the milk ducts run along, and pressure there is the most common avoidable cause of a blocked duct. Support comes from a wide underband instead.
Which model, and when
In the last weeks of pregnancy and the first days after birth the size keeps moving: that is what the seamless models and the letter-sized ones are for, because they follow it. Once it settles, a bra cut on the band fits better. For the night, take an unpadded model that folds all the way down, and anyone pumping needs the hands-free one.
Sizes from 34 to 46
The numbers on the labels are US bands: a 34 is a European 75, a 38 an 85. We cover 34 to 46, which is 75 to 105, plus four models cut on letters from S to 4XL. For each colour, only the sizes actually in stock can be selected.
